When I start my Spectre, it starts windows in 640 by 480 mode, then (after about 10 sec) opens Bang & Oulfsen app, which askes to run, and (after I click on Yes) then switches to recommended 2560 by 1440 mode.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Thanks

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Spectre x360 laptop. I read that initially when the laptop starts, the resolution is 640 x 480. After 10 seconds when the Bang & Olufsen app opens, the resolution switches to recommended 2560 x 1440. I'll do my best to hep you.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- The exact product model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
- Since how long has the laptop been facing this resolution switch.
- Did any updates or software changes take place on the laptop recently after which this issue started?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
Go to your Desktop, right-click your mouse and go to Display Settings.
The following panel will open. Here you can adjust the size of text, apps, and other items and also change the orientation. To change the resolution settings, scroll down this window and click on Advanced Display Settings.
1366 X 768 is the recommended screen resolution for my PC. It may be different for you.
However, you may want to modify if you want the items in your PC to appear larger. Please note that lower is the resolution, larger is the content displayed on your screen. From the available options in the drop-down menu, select the one you want and click Apply.
If it is not the optimal setting for your system, you will see an Optimal Resolution Notification like this.
You may ignore the notification and confirm your Screen Resolution changes by clicking on Keep The Changes. or you may select another screen resolution. You will get just 15 seconds to confirm the changes or else it will revert to the default display settings.
If the issue persists then open the device manager and expand display adapters. Right click on the driver under display adapter and choose "uninstall." You may then download and install the drivers from this link.
I hope this helps Let me know. All the best! 🙂

You're welcome. 🙂
Also, this link might help.
(Refer to Changing the size of text, display brightness, and screen resolution and Advanced display settings).
If the issue persists then please follow the below steps:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand display adapters.
- Right click on the driver listed under display adapter and click uninstall.
- Please restart the laptop.
- When the laptop restarts, Windows should automatically install the display drivers.
- Sometimes you may have to wait for upto 2 minutes because it may take a while for Windows to install the drivers.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂
