So, I am getting these stutters on my screen and it flashes like the picture a couple of times fast, before it goes away but every now and again it keeps doing it. I don't know why. I've tried lowering my resolution but that kept happening and I am running the latest update on windows 10. However, it seems to matter which program I am using because I have never experienced it ever happening on the edge browser or at my desktop.

During these flashes I've never had an external device connected to my laptop and it also seems that it doesn't matter if it's connected to a AC adapter.

But I don't think it's a hardware problem anymore because I updated to the new windows update that recently came out and that seems to have fixed the problem

@thespyro

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Spectre x360 series laptop and facing display issues. I read that the display is stuttering and flashes. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

Did any hardware or software changes happen on the laptop recently?

Do you have an external monitor to be connected to the laptop to check fi the display is fine on the external monitor?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop.

If the issue persists then let us check the display quality in the BIOS. The following steps will help:

  • Shutdown the laptop.
  • Power on the laptop and immediately hit the f10 key repeatedly (7-8 times). This will load the BIOS.
  • Please keep your laptop under observation on the BIOS screen for some time. If the issue persists in the BIOS, then it indicates towards a hardware issue with the display. In such a case you may contact our HP phone support team to explore the hardware service options for your HP laptop.

Hope this information helps. Please let me know how it goes. Good luck! 🙂
