OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ek1000(2B1K2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hey everyone,

I just bought a new laptop (OMEN 15.6 inch gaming laptop) and i'm having a significant display issue. My laptop screen randomly turns off and on again. Sometimes i can go an hour without this problem and sometimes it can happen multiple times in a minute. My drivers are fully updated and it's not a task manager or app issue either. So i'm starting to think there's an issue with the hardware.

I just wanted to ask if someone else has had this issue in the past or anyone knows a solution before i return my laptop.

Thanks!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting display issues in your notebook, I am glad to assist you.

•    Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?

•    Have you checked the display on an external monitor?

Meanwhile:-

Update the BIOS to install the latest updates.

Here are the steps:- Click here

I have updated my drivers en installed the latest bios updates and the problem is still occuring. If my laptop is connected to an external monitor, only the screen on my laptop goes black, but not on the external monitor.

What's remarkable is that this problem only occurs when i put my graphic settings on hybrid when both the intel 7 & nvidia gpu get used. When i put the graphic settings on discrete, when only the nvidia gpu gets used, the problem doesn't occur. Makes me think it's some problem when switching between those.

Use the video or graphics card driver to configure screen settings.

Right-click an empty space on the desktop, and then click the Settings, Properties, or Control option that matches your graphics card.

An example of graphics card control panel

Your graphics card control panel displays.

Click the Display, Arrange, or similar option, and then click Multiple Displays, if necessary.

Select the display option you want, such as Clone, Duplicate, or Extended option.

Click Apply or Finish, if necessary.

Let me know how it goes.
