Hi @333lea, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP laptop screen. Let's try to resolve this together. Here are a few steps you can follow:
Check Display Settings:
- Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
- Ensure the resolution is set to the recommended level.
- If you have multiple displays, make sure the correct one is selected.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand the Display adapters section.
- Right-click on your graphics driver and select Update driver.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- HP provides a tool to diagnose and fix hardware issues. You can download and run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool from the HP Support website.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect your screen for any visible damage or loose connections.
- If you find any, it might be best to contact HP support for repair options.
Adjust Brightness and Contrast:
- Sometimes adjusting the brightness and contrast can help. You can usually find these settings in the Display settings or by using the function keys on your keyboard.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
