Hi, I had a awful problem on here yesterday, in fact it took my entire evening.  I was reading some answers to a question i had (sort of) My question was Why do I all of a sudden, have a search bar, next to my browser in the top of my laptop screen.  All the the questions and answers i found were, How to get rid of this search bar (which i do want to do as well) Most importtant to me, is WHY it just appeared there in the 1st place?  Where did it come from? Could it be a red flag that someone is hacking my computer? etc?

I will greatly appreciate help, as well I do have a screenshot of when i tried to contact this HP site, Is there a e-mail adress i can use to contact this site?

Thanks a bunch

I understand you are having issues with the search bar on your browser. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What browser are you using?

Did it happen after an update?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

If you are using IE:

On the top of the Address bar right click and then remove the check mark from search bar.

If you are using Google chrome:

  • Open Google Chrome.
  • Type the following in the address bar and press Enter.
    • chrome://flags/.
  • Scroll to Enable search button in Omnibox.
  • Select Disabled.

Please respond to this post with the details of the browser so that I can provide you with an accurate steps which should help you resolve this issue.

In Internet Explorer, click "Tools", and then click "Manage add-ons".

Look through the list, and "disable" the "suspicious" entry.
