Telling us simply that its not working is not giving us any useful information.
We need to know what specifically you are doing to connect the monitor.
Also, is the monitor screen just blank and black?
You need to go into Display Settings by right-clicking on your desktop and seeing if the external monitor is shown there as a display. IF it is not, then Windows is not seeing it and unfortunately, there is nothing then you can do to use it.
