@Melly7117, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Setting up your HP laptop to use two external screens can greatly enhance your productivity! Here are the steps to get you started:
Check Your Ports: Ensure your laptop has the necessary ports to connect two external monitors. Common ports include HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, and VGA.
Gather Your Equipment:
- Two external monitors
- Appropriate cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, etc.)
- Optional: A docking station or multi-port adapter if your laptop has limited ports
Connect the Monitors:
- Direct Connection: Connect each monitor to your laptop using the appropriate cables. If your laptop has only one HDMI port, you might need a USB-C to HDMI adapter for the second monitor.
- Docking Station: If using a docking station, connect the docking station to your laptop and then connect the monitors to the docking station.
Configure Display Settings:
- Windows Settings: Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings."
- Detect Monitors: Windows should automatically detect the connected monitors. If not, click "Detect."
- Arrange Displays: Under "Multiple displays," choose "Extend these displays" to expand your workspace across both monitors. You can drag and arrange the monitor icons to match their physical setup.
- Set Main Display: Select the monitor you want to be your main display and check the box that says "Make this my main display."
Adjust Settings: Customize resolution, orientation, and other settings to suit your preferences.
