Why my laptop screen shadowed black? Sometimes if I increase the brightness, the shadow dissapears but sometimes it doesn't

I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:

  • I recommend installing the latest drivers from the HP support website
  • Next, check if the issue occurs in both the BIOS and Safe Mode. If the problem persists in both, it’s likely a hardware issue.
  • You can also run a diagnostic test in the BIOS (UEFI). This extensive test might take 2-3 hours, but it can help identify any hardware problems. 
  • Additionally, try connecting your device to a different monitor or a TV, if possible, to see if the issue continues.
