When I use Skype, it makes my webcam look very dark. I can go into YouCam and re-adjust the settings to make it auto-adjust for brightness, and it works again. But then about 10 seconds into a Skype call, it switches and makes the webcam dark again. I am feeling really frustrated, as my husband travels a lot for business and likes to skype with our 3yo and 1yo, and I am constantly having to readjust the color manually in Skype because it keeps changing as the sun goes down, bedtime, etc.

I have already done that and a million different combinations of Skype settings. The ONLY way to get it back to how it was is use YouCam and switch it that way. But I actually just reinstalled the drivers and it seems to be working so far.

Hi,
That is something to do with Skype. Please try:
- Go to options
- Select video settings
- Select webcam settings
- Camera control and unchecked the low light compensation box.
Hope this helps !
Regards.
