I am looking to replace both cover and display for my laptop.  Reason being that it now has a number of white smudges (best description I can think of) on the display.  They are not dead pixels.  There was one when I bought it at a well know UK PC/Laptop retailer.  When enquiring about a warranty repair I was advised it would take a week to fix.  I could not spare the time delay so I gave it a miss.  The smudge was not a major issue and besides I use external monitors mostly.

My issue now is the smudges are getting worse and on my nerves so I'm considering replacing the entire cover with display.  Seems this is preferable to replacing just the display from a practical perspective.  My plan is to get the part and arrange a day to take both in to a repair facility and get the job done there and then hopefully.

Can anyone advise the part number and where I might obtain the parts(s).  Is such a part available?  Trying to find out from HP directly is proving somewhat difficult.
