This helped! Worked instantly.

Oke but hopefully HP will come with an update for it too. Since I don't think its a good thing to just dissable some random features.

When you're on the black screen. Open up task manager (ctrl alt del) and run a new task: cmd.. type in msconfig go to services and disable app readiness

Thanks, this fix also worked for me in a HP ELitebook X360 1030 G2. This was driving me crazy!

Now lest hope that HP/Microsoft/Intel find a real solution instead of this workaround.

Same thing happened to me. From what I've read, run as far as you can from your HP. I took mine back and got an Asus and it is night and day!!! Run it back to the store- that's my advice.

I'm having the same problem. It started happening after an update last night. I bought this laptop one week ago. I'm thinking about returning it.

Hey guys, same issue here, just let it stand for 10-15min it clears.. seems like an update or something.... I left it and it started working again....

Great, setting appreadiness to disabled works but isn't that service needed for when new apps and updates are installed?  Seriously this is ridiculous - I've just sourced someone a PC for £800 from HP and now I have to take it to them and say "here's your shiney new PC, btw it takes 10mins to log on".
