Hi,

Just bought a new laptop upon turning on and going through the initial setup steps, my screen started to became fuzzy and then whole screen is filled with colourful vertical lines. I waited for a good 5 mins with closing and open the laptop lid still does not help. So I held onto the power button to power it off. Once it was off for a good 3minutes I turned it back and on and the screen appears to be normal.

Is this normal for a brand new laptop screen to behave or something I should be more concerns and take back to the retailer.

Thank you.20200413_202117.jpg

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Please perform a Power drain and try getting to BIOS

Shut down the Notebook , remove the Battery and AC Adapter > Press and hold the Power Button for 20 seconds > Put back everything and upon powering ON keep tapping on F10 till you see System Configuration Menu

If you are unable to get to BIOS, please contact the retailer you purchased it from for an exchange

Thank you
