hp Spectre

I spilled some soda on my computer by mistake, and my spacebar is super sticky, and will hardly function. This is the only key that has this problem as of now, and it has been a day, or so. What is the best way of going about this on my HP spectre, where online sources are saying that I shouldnot pop the keys fully off?

Yeah HP sources the keyboard together with the display and top cover...the part likely costs several hundred dollars. Try the alcohol. I mean get lab type alcohol 90% and apply sparingly. Let dry. Hair dryer would be good to use with it. Not too hot.

Please provide full model. There is the Spectre 13-v "world's thinnest" which I have and also a Spectre 13 x360 which is similar but not exactly the same. I think the firstest and bestest would be to replace the keyboard. It needs to be disassembled to trace where the sugary liquid went otherwise you may not have seen the full extent of the damage yet.

Failing that you can try high percentage isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip carefully applied around the key, slopping as little as possible hoping it gets under and dissolves the soda pop. Not ideal. You might just have the alcohol dissolve some of the sugar and flow to a more damaging place like the motherboard.
