HI! I am trying to find a pen/stylus to use with my Envy Notebook. I have Windows Ink and a touchscreen. I bought a Bamboo Ink pen but my computer didn't recognize it. I tried changing protocols on it to mpp, didn't help. My finger works great so it's not a touchscreen issue as far as I can tell. I don't need a fancy pen with lots of options. I just need to write text on my whiteboard. Thanks for your help.

Hello @JulieThomas70,
A compatible active stylus may not be available for your device.
However, to confirm, a specific product name or product number is required. Examples include:
- HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0028ca or 5MT98UA#ABL
- HP ENVY x360 - 15-dr0042nb or 6EL70EA#UUG
- HP Notebook - 17-by0003na or 4AP04EA#ABU
- OMEN by HP 15-dc1030nr or 6FE64UA#ABA
- HP EliteBook 850 G5 Notebook PC or 3JX11EA#ABU
Information on how to find a laptop's product name or product number is detailed in this HP document. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Community. The difference between a product number and a serial number is that the product number contains a # sign)

I regret to inform you that no HP active styluses are listed as being compatible with the HP ENVY - 17t-s100 CTO.
Active styluses, including those with tilt support, pressure sensitivity, and button mapping, are not supported, but you can instead choose to purchase a passive stylus available from most tech shops near you (although I presume they're closed right now due to COVID-19) which will provide a similar experience to using your finger.
Kind regards,
Eddy

Well, passive styluses will probably be called somewhere along the lines of:
- Universal stylus
- Touch screen pen compatible with mobile devices, laptops, etc
- Pen for all touch-capacitive screens
- Or just "passive stylus"
Just make sure not to get pens that are intended for drawing tablets. These are a bit different and have rock hard nibs.
If you go to a nearby tech store, you should find these widely available but since stores are closed, these are the most popular options on Amazon:
There are lots of other options on Amazon.
Hope that helps.
