HP PAVILION X360 13-U131TU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP PAVILION X360 13-U131TU (Z4Q49PA#ACJ)  and the product info reads "Touch support with 10 touch points". I wanted to know if it supports a stylus. (I had seen it supported stylus  but not included in box while buying but can't find it now).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

If this is your computer:

Z4Q49PA HP Pavilion x360 - 13-u131tu

The computer model was first available in September 2016.  The model was marked for Obsolesence  (no longer available for purchase) at the end of April 2018.

The answer is "Sorry, no:  This notebook model does not support an active stylus."

Search the document for a compatible stylus:

HP PCs - Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus

I cannot find reference to a supported stylus in the Compatibility document nor any other resource to which I have access.  If you were told otherwise, there is either information out there about which I am unaware (possible), or your source is incorrect.

If you can find the data source, please link it in a return post and I will ask to have the information checked.

What else?

As mentioned in the Compatibility document, most touch screen computers will support a Passive Stylus.  I realize this is not what you want; the information is provided simply as FYI (For Your Information).

Passive Pen / Stylus

If you do not find an active pen listed in the compatibility document for your computer, consider the "passive" pen.

Reminders:

  • Passive pen is not the same thing as an active stylus.
  • Passive pen does not act like an art pencil.
  • Passive pen does not interact with Windows Ink.
  • Passive pen can be used on the desktop -- open icons, menus, activate programs.
  • Passive pen does not have a battery nor does it contain any electronics used to interface with the screen.
  • Capacitive / Passive pen tips are "fat" to allow the pen to cover enough of the screen area to activate the "touch".  (See article below for actual terms and definitions.)
  • Use your favorite search engine -- search for "active stylus versus capacitive stylus"
