Is this computer not compatible with any stylus? I bought a generic one it was spotty so I bought an hp one for like 50 and it’s connected but won’t do anything. If it does work with a stylus could I get an exact model or link when I look up passive ones the listing lies.

Hi @Luke195,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The Kindle Fire HD 10 doesn't have native support for active styluses or pens with pressure sensitivity, which might be why your HP stylus isn’t functioning as expected. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know about stylus compatibility with your Fire tablet:
Types of Styluses
Capacitive Stylus (Passive)
- These styluses are designed to work with any touchscreen that responds to finger taps. They don’t require special drivers or Bluetooth connections.
- They should work with your Kindle Fire HD 10, but the quality of the experience can vary based on the stylus design.
Active Stylus
- These require specific drivers or Bluetooth connections and offer features like pressure sensitivity. They are generally not supported by Kindle Fire HD 10 tablets as they are not designed to work with the operating system's touch interface.
Troubleshooting Stylus Issues
Capacitive Stylus:
- Ensure the screen is clean and free from smudges or dirt, as this can affect stylus performance.
- Test with different apps to ensure the issue isn’t app-specific. Some apps may not support stylus input as well as others.
- If your generic or HP stylus isn’t working properly, it may be due to the design of the stylus or how it interacts with the capacitive screen.
HP Stylus:
- If the HP stylus was advertised as compatible but isn’t working, ensure it’s the correct model for your device. Most HP styluses are designed for HP’s own devices or more advanced tablets.
- Check if the stylus needs batteries or any specific setup for it to function.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
