Solution to my Acer Laptop running Win7 was to first switch the BIOS to InsydeH2O.
My laptop had locked features so I had to install it first, make sure your model number
is described to a tee, including the version if any, do not download otherwise.
After flashing bios, go into Bios and switch graphics mode from dynamic to FIXED.
Last FIXED leshcat drivers are 14.4 v 2.4. You can try the 15.7 v 1.2 before bios changes but I doubt it will work. Also clean drivers out of system thoroughly before installing leshcat's.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled uninstalled and reinstalled and restarted and did god knows else what but WINDOWS 10 sucks d**k and so does HP and AMD. FCK them all.
So:
- uninstalled both the AMD and intel graphics cards on my hp pavillion laptop (unfortunately intel miraculously reappears installed after the restart but no amd graphics card shows up).
- All relative drivers etc are UNINSTALLED! AND computer restarted
- So how now do i reinstall the amd graphics card can anyone link me to the specific freakin link ??
have tried:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58894.exe
but because there is no graphics card there is no driver installation in the end and all time wasted.
noticed people saying that there are no supporting drivers by HP for windows 10 to run the catalyst control/amd drivers to STOP integrated graphics with intel...
is this really a lost cause and my laptop is now s*ithouse waste of money?
HP REPLY YOU BASTARDS!

On my old laptop I wanted to disable the AMD graphics because I didn't need it and it pointlessly made my laptop heat up.
The way I did that was by getting the drivers through windows update and editing the advanced power options in the Windows power plan I was using. I set every imaginable setting to Maximum battery life and did the same in Catalyst control center. After that every app used the Intel graphics which was enough for me.
So try doing the opposite?
Dunno if this helps but that's what worked for me on my 4530s.
Also had to set the ULPS to 0 in registry to get a normal boot time.

I recently got a G62 (model B40SW) laptop and also am encountering soem issues with regard to graphics switching.
Tiis works fine in Windows 7 - right clikc on desktop -> switchable graphics allows to choose between the igpu and dgpu.
In WIndows 10 I have tried different drivers (the latest Leshcat Labs ones work best for me) but the switching functioanlity is different - insead of being able to choose which gpu to use this is now handled dynamically based on power profiles. I would prefer if this worked the same as under WIndows 10, since i am still encountering situations when even if I choose maximum performance profiles (i.e. to force exclusive use of the AMD dgpu) some programs are run on the igpu.
I have tried a supposedly unlocked bios from bios-mods (SP55430) - it flashes fine, the GPU selection options show up in bios but any attempts to change any settings result in a semi-brick. Fortunately I managed to recover to the previous bios.
So for the moment it looks like either stay with WIndows 7 and get full GPU switching functionality or go for WIndows 10 and have pretty much no control over over what GPU the system chooses (more likely than not it chooses the Intel igpu instead of the AMD dgpu).

I think I have solved this years lasting problem..
Search for AMD driver version: 15.301.1901.0 from date 26.2.2016.
Switchable graphic works!
Hope this helps a lot of people that are stuck trying to get their second GPU working.
Cheers
