I have been having this issue for quite a while, but I am past getting tired of of doing what I have to do to get it to start working again.

The Synaptics touchpad and cursor quit working after the notebokk has been running on AC power for a while. At first I was restarting the computer to fix the issue, but then I found out that I could turn the AC off, wait for it to switch to battery power, (the screen brightness is lower on battery), close the lid to put it to sleep, then reopen it after it goes to sleep, (there is an audible click from the speakers when it goes to sleep). When I reopen the lid the touchpad and cursor are working again.

I have tried updating the drivers many times, I have also uninstalled it and reinstalled it many times, all to no avail.

Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
