Hi @SJ-2026,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Has the touchscreen ever worked on this laptop, or did the issue start recently?
  • Did the problem appear after a Windows update, driver change, or hardware repair?
  • Does the touchscreen respond at all (e.g., partial touches), or is it completely unresponsive?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and look under Human Interface Devices. Make sure “HID-compliant touch screen” is listed and enabled. If it’s missing, that may indicate a driver or hardware issue.
  • Enable Touchscreen: If “HID-compliant touch screen” is present but disabled, right-click and select Enable device.
  • Update Drivers: Right-click the touchscreen device in Device Manager and select Update driver. You can also run Windows Update to ensure the latest drivers are installed.
  • Calibrate the Touchscreen: Go to Settings > Display > Calibrate (or search for “Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input”) and run the calibration tool.
  • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics: Restart your laptop, press F2, and run a component test for the touchscreen to confirm if it’s detected at the hardware level.
  • BIOS Settings: Restart and enter BIOS (usually by pressing F10). Check if there are any touchscreen-related settings enabled.

If the touchscreen still doesn’t respond after these steps, it may point to a hardware issue with the touch panel itself.

I hope this helps.
