HP ENVY X360 LAPTOP

My touchscreen used to work and now all of a sudden it has stopped work.  I went to Device Manager ---> Human Interfaces---> ELAN EZ Touch Filter. It has a yellow error sign on it. I double-clicked on it and selected "update driver" but it says the current one is already installed. I tried disabling the device and then enabling it again, and it still doesn't work.

I suspect there is an issue with Human Interface Device > ELAN EzTouchFilter

This is very annoying as I presume the issue came from a system update. It was working all along but now I can't get anyone to help. Please help!

@ava242

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, let's perform HID driver roll back:

  1. Open Device Manager, click Start > Control Panel > Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display Adapters.
  3. Double-click on your HID-compliant touch screen under Human Interface Devices.
  4. Select the Driver tab.
  5. Click Roll Back Driver to restore.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
