Spectre X360 15t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a Spectre X360, 15". I'm not exactly sure when it started happening but I think it was working fine up to about a month ago. The issue is that before, every time I would fold it to use it as a tablet, it would automatically prompt me if I would like to work on tablet mode or keep on working on desktop mode. It would also automatically rotate depending on how I'm holding the unit. Now, it does not prompt me to select which mode to work on, nor does it automatically rotate. I could manually put it on tablet mode, but the touchpad and and the keyboard are still enabled, causing crazy issues while working. Furthermore, the auto-rotate does not function at all. I've tried regedit then changing Enable AutoRotation value to 1 and the re-booting, but it just changes the value back to 0. At the time of this writing, Windows Update says I am up-to-date. I've tried re-booting so many times, but the issue still persists. I've tried system restore, but it has failed on all the restore points available.

@Zzz4789 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand the Windows 10 Automatic Tablet Mode is not working,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Which operating system are you using? is it the OEM or a custom ROM?

(Note: The notebook was designed with an operating system in mind and when you upgrade to another OS or a custom ROM, there are always bumps in the road and this has been the case for ever.
Keep an eye on the hp support site for updates and releases for Windows 10, if you find an OEM-install it instead of the custom ROM to resolve the issue).

Please reply with the details for further assistance.

The unit runs on the OS it came with, and I ordered it straight from HP so I believe I have the OEM version. Also checked and confirmed this through the command prompt, it said OEM_DM Channel.

Here are the product details:

Model Number: HP Spectre x360-15t-ch000 CTO

Product Number: 2FW62AV

@Zzz4789

Thank you for the update.

First, check the settings using the link: http://hp.care/2ffDjr3

If the settings are right, then try Microsoft system restore using the steps below.

  • Right-click (or press and hold) the Start button, and then select Control Panel.
  • Search Control Panel for Recovery.
  • Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
  • Choose the restore point related to the problematic app, driver, or update, and then select Next > Finish

Have a nice day!!
