The black taskbar is too big and I can't see some of my options on my screen. How do I make it smaller?

Hi @bm523,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to make the taskbar smaller on your HP Envy X360 14-inch 2-in-1 Laptop running Windows 11, follow these steps:

Method 1: Change Taskbar Size in Settings

  1. Right-click on the Taskbar: Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar.
  2. Select "Taskbar settings": This will open the taskbar settings menu.
  3. Scroll down to "Taskbar behaviors": Click to expand this section.
  4. Change Taskbar Size:
    • Locate the "Taskbar size" option.
    • Select "Small" from the drop-down menu.

Method 2: Using Windows Settings App

Open Settings:

  • Press Win + I to open the Settings app.

Go to Personalization:

  • Select Personalization from the left-hand menu.
  • Click on Taskbar in the right-hand menu.

Adjust Taskbar Alignment and Other Options:

  • Ensure the taskbar is set to Center alignment (optional).
  • Disable any unnecessary icons or widgets that may be contributing to the taskbar size.

Additional Tips

  • Check Display Settings:
    • Ensure that your display settings (such as scaling) are properly configured. Right-click on the desktop, select Display settings, and ensure the scale is set to 100% (or another appropriate value).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
