HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy1000 RCTO Base Model

My grandmother bought this for me for university.  I am a biology major, minoring in chemistry and asl and planning to become a Physician Assistant.  I received it Jan 12, 2021, charged it overnight and created an account Jan 13.  Feb 12 I opened my first ticket because the touch screen stopped responding.  Went through all the regular steps and they had me send it to Texas.  Had to borrow my mom's laptop which wouldn't run the lab software I have to purchase for school.  Got it back and it worked for a while.  Then the touchpad stopped working.  Couldn't afford to send it off again mid-semester so dealt with external mouse until summer and sent it off again.  Got it back and it worked for a while.  Half way through fall semester, touch pad stopped again.  Drivers have been installed and reinstalled.  Multiple factory resets.  Tech support can not get it to stay working.  They refuse to replace it but offered to sell me an extension to the warranty.  FOR WHAT??!!  They even tried to say the 1 year warranty was expired when it shows in my account that it goes till 1/12/2023.  I couldn't send it off when it first failed in the fall because they don't offer loaners while they fix mine.  I HAVE to have a robust laptop for my major and it's ridiculous to spend that money and trust HP's reputation only to have maybe 3 months of full function within the FIRST YEAR of ownership.  I don't abuse it.  It's in a neoprene case inside a padded sleeve in my bag, that I don't throw around.  Any ideas?
