When I try to open up the wifi settings to set up my new internet, the pointer closes out the screen as soon as it want to click on the settings. It does it to almost every setting screen. Even the touch screen pointer does it. I've tried every suggestion possible and nothing works. I don't know what to do. I just bought this laptop 6 months ago and it is already giving me problems. Im starting a new job next week and I need this laptop for work because its a remote job. Someone please help.

I have not made any changes to the Hardware. Its Model 15-da0053wm, windows 10, Hp 8th generation core i5. I have performed every troubleshooting step that pertained to my situation and even ones that didn't. The touch pad pointer closes out the setting screen and any screen that let's you adjust anything. I got new wifi and I need to set it up fir my internet to work. But everytime I open the settings and go to click on something it closes it out. I've tried opening wifi settings in different ways and keeps closing it out when I put the pointer on any of the setting options.

First, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp107501-108000/sp107606.exe
Once the BOIS is updated, then uninstall the touchpad driver from device manager and then download and install the driver from the below link.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp104001-104500/sp104407.exe
Here is how it is done.
- Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
- Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
- On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
- When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.
NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers!
