The product name is HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-dr0xxx. The camera function on my laptop has been unavailable as it says "We can't find your camera." I've recently installed Windows 11 in an attempt to update my laptop to see if it would work, but the camera driver does not appear in Device Manager, even under hidden devices. I have checked the HP website but found no driver options for Windows 11.

Hi @Mike1566,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the model details, and I’m sorry to hear your camera is not being detected. I understand how inconvenient it is to see the message “We can’t find your camera”, especially after upgrading to Windows 11 and checking Device Manager with no camera listed. Let’s go through the correct steps.

Step 1: Check the Physical Camera Privacy Switch

Please carefully check:

  • The right edge of the laptop has a small slider switch with a camera icon
  • Slide it fully in the opposite direction and test the camera again

When enabled, the privacy switch completely disables the camera at the hardware level, and Windows will not detect it at all.

Step 2: Check the Camera Function Key

Some ENVY x360 models allow camera disable/enable using a keyboard key.

Look for a key with a camera icon (often on the top row).
Press:

Fn + Camera key (or just the camera key if action keys are enabled)

Then restart the laptop and test again.

Step 3: Check BIOS Camera Setting

The camera can also be disabled in BIOS.

  1. Turn the laptop OFF
  2. Power ON and repeatedly tap F10
  3. Enter BIOS Setup
  4. Go to:
    • Advanced → Built-in Device Options (or similar)
  5. Look for the Integrated Camera
  6. Make sure it is Enabled
  7. Save and Exit

Step 4: Show Devices by Connection (Important)

Sometimes the camera will not appear in the normal list.

In Device Manager:

  1. Click View
  2. Select Devices by connection
  3. Expand USB and Imaging branches
  4. Look for Unknown Device or USB Video Device

If found, right-click → Update driver.

Step 5: BIOS Restore:

  1. Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in
  2. Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
  3. Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
