Immediate Action Required – HP Victus 15-fa1xxx Camera Still Dead, No Callback
I am extremely angry and disappointed with how my warranty case is being handled.
Your agent promised me a callback within 24 hours after BIOS and Windows updates. It has been over 24 hours, and I have received no call, no update, nothing. On top of that, I now cannot even reach support because it’s the weekend. This is completely unacceptable.
The issue is still unresolved — the camera LED flickers and then goes black
This looks more like hardware failure, not software. I have already done every step HP requested.

This is likely a hardware issue. Since BIOS and Windows updates didn’t help and the camera LED flickers then turns off, the camera module may be faulty. Best Next Steps: Document Everything – Keep a written record (dates, times, names). Request Immediate Escalation – **bleep** on the next working day and ask to escalate to a supervisor or case manager. Ask for On-Site Repair or Replacement – Clearly state that all troubleshooting is done. Mention Warranty Rights – Firmly (but politely) mention you're under warranty and expect resolution or device replacement.

Hi @MasterANK,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Camera Settings:
- Ensure the camera is not disabled in the Device Manager. You can access this by right-clicking on the Start Menu, selecting Device Manager, locating the camera under "Imaging devices," and ensuring it is enabled.
Driver Update:
- Try updating the camera driver through Device Manager. Right-click the camera, choose "Update driver," and select "Search automatically for updated driver software."
Roll Back Driver Update:
- If the problem began after a driver update, you can roll back to the previous version by right-clicking the camera in Device Manager, selecting “Properties,” navigating to the “Driver” tab, and clicking “Roll Back Driver.”
BIOS and Windows Update:
- Make sure your BIOS and Windows are fully updated. Sometimes updates can fix compatibility issues or hardware bugs.
External Testing:
- Verify if the camera issue persists across different applications or settings to rule out software-specific problems.
I hope this helps.
