Hi @ramesh2407,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding mouse movement issues on the HP Spectre x360 13.5-inch 2-in-1 laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches affecting hardware components.
Check the Touchpad Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and ensure all settings align with your preference. You might want to disable gestures that you don't use.
Update and Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button.
- Find Mouse and Other Pointing Devices and right-click the touchpad device (HP Touchpad or Synaptics/Elan device) to update the driver.
- If updating doesn’t work, consider reinstalling the driver by uninstalling it and reboot the laptop.
Scan for Malware:
- Run a full system scan with Windows Defender or any anti-malware software to ensure that malware isn't causing erratic behavior.
External Mouse:
- If you are using an external mouse, try disconnecting it to see if the issue persists. Alternatively, test the external mouse on another device to rule out hardware failure.
Conduct Hardware Diagnostics:
- Utilize the HP Support Assistant to run hardware diagnostics which can identify any potential issues with the touchpad itself.
Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows 11 OS is up to date by checking Settings > Windows Update.
Safe Mode Check:
- Boot into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If not, it might be a software conflict causing the problem.
I hope this helps.
