Hi @Re60,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that on your HP OmniBook 5 Flip 14-inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-fp0000 (B09FFAV), the pen pointer does not line up correctly with the physical pen tip, and you're also experiencing significant pen lag.

Thank you for already trying calibration and disabling/re-enabling the pen in Device Manager. Since those steps did not help, let's continue with the following:

  1. Restart the notebook and test the pen again without any other external accessories connected.
  2. Check Windows Update and install any available updates, then restart the notebook.
  3. Please visit the official HP OmniBook 5 Flip 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-fp0000 (B09FFAV) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® ... and use the available HP support/diagnostic options for your exact model. HP provides HP Support Assistant and HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for this product.
  4. After updating and restarting, test the pen in more than one application and check whether the cursor remains offset from the pen tip everywhere or only in a particular application.

There is no need to keep looking for the Calibrate option that you mentioned if Windows is not presenting it on your system. The official product support information I checked does not provide that as the required troubleshooting procedure for this model.

If the problem continues, please let us know:

  • The exact model/name of the HP pen you are using.
  • Whether the cursor is offset everywhere on the screen or only near certain edges/areas.
  • Whether touch input with your finger follows the correct position or is also offset.
  • Whether the pen originally worked correctly with this notebook and the issue started later.

These details will help us determine whether we're dealing specifically with the pen or with the notebook's touch/pen input.

Hello

i don’t know the exact name of the pen but it’s the rechargable one that comes with the omnibook

regarding the cursor yes it’s only shown on the edges of the screen whenever i move the pen to the middle of the screen it scatters away and start lagging

i visited the showroom that i bought thevlaptop from

they tried the pen on another omnibook it’s working very well

the employee told me that maybe the problem is from the (pen sensor ) in the software because it shows in a part and the other it goes away.

Hi @Re60,

Thank you for getting back to us and for testing the pen on another OmniBook.

Since the same rechargeable HP pen works correctly on another computer, but on your HP OmniBook 5 Flip 14-inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-fp0000 the cursor works around the edges and becomes erratic or disappears toward the middle of the screen, let's check the touch and pen response on the notebook itself.

Please do not install HP Presence Sensing Settings specifically for this issue. That package is intended for the system's proximity/presence-sensing function in convertible modes and is not the pen-input driver.

Please try the following:

  1. Test the touchscreen across the complete display.
Using your finger, slowly draw or move continuously from one edge of the screen through the center to the opposite edge. Let us know if touch also stops, jumps, or becomes unresponsive around the same area where the pen has difficulty.
  2. Test the pen in another application.
Try drawing slowly across the whole display in an application such as Paint or another drawing/writing application. Check whether the cursor consistently loses tracking around the same portion of the screen.

The cross-test you already performed is particularly useful. As the pen itself works normally on another OmniBook, please let us know whether finger touch is also affected in the center portion of your OmniBook's screen after completing the checks above.
