Hi @VagPanatha

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Your HP ENVY 17‑ch0000 touchscreen flickering is most likely linked to driver or display hardware conflicts, not necessarily a failing graphics card. The recommended first step is to update both the graphics and touchscreen drivers using HP’s official tools, then run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to confirm whether the issue is hardware‑related.

Step‑by‑Step HP Recommended Actions

1. Update Drivers

  • Graphics Driver: Use HP Support Assistant or download directly from the HP Drivers & Software page for your model.
  • Touchscreen Driver: Update through HP App or Device Manager, ensuring the latest HP‑certified driver is installed.
  • Keeping both drivers current often resolves flickering and taskbar redraw issues.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Disconnect the power adapter and peripherals.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect power and restart.
This clears residual electrical states that can cause display glitches.

3. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart the laptop and press Esc, then F2.
  • Run Display Test and Touchscreen Test under Component Tests.
  • This will confirm if the flicker is due to hardware failure.

4. Check with External Monitor

  • Connect an external display.
  • If the external monitor works fine, the issue is isolated to the internal screen/touch panel.
  • If flickering persists externally, the graphics subsystem may be involved.

5. Adjust Display Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Display > Brightness.
  • Disable Adaptive Brightness (automatic brightness changes can sometimes cause flicker).

Take care, and have an amazing day!
