My HP's camera doesn't work properly. For example, if I start making a video call, my image may appear only a few seconds. I have windows 11 installed.

Hi @PedroGil73, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop's camera is not working properly on Windows 11 (e.g., it turns on briefly and then stops), try these troubleshooting steps:

Basic Checks:

Ensure the Camera is Enabled:

  • Press Windows + S, type Camera, and open the Camera app.
  • If it works here, the issue is with the specific app (Zoom, Teams, etc.).

Check Camera Privacy Settings:

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & security → Camera.
  • Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are turned on.
  • Scroll down to see if the app you're using has camera permission enabled.

Update Drivers:

Update/Reinstall Camera Drivers:

  • Right-click StartDevice Manager.
  • Expand Imaging devices or Cameras.
  • Right-click the camera, select Update driverSearch automatically for drivers.
  • If the issue persists, uninstall the camera driver and restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver.

Try an Older Driver Version:

  • Go to Device Manager → Right-click your camera → PropertiesDriver tab.
  • Click Roll Back Driver (if available).

Advanced Fixes:

Check for Conflicting Apps:

  • Close all apps that might be using the camera (Zoom, Teams, Skype).
  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), find any camera-related processes, and end task.

Disable Camera Auto-Off Settings in Apps:

  • Some apps have power-saving features that turn off the camera. Check app settings (e.g., Zoom, Teams).

Check Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.

Run Troubleshooter:

  • Settings → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Camera.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

There are a few things you can try to fix your webcam on Windows 11. First, check your privacy settings by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and making sure apps have permission to use your webcam. Next, update your drivers by opening Device Manager, finding Imaging Devices or Cameras, right-clicking your webcam, and selecting Update Driver. You can also try uninstalling the driver and restarting your laptop so Windows reinstalls it automatically. Test the camera in another app, like the built-in Camera app, to see if the issue happens there as well. Make sure Windows is fully updated, as sometimes a system update can fix hardware issues. Finally, if you have multiple video apps like Zoom or Skype, one might be blocking access to the camera, so try closing them completely through Task Manager and then testing your webcam again. Let me know if any of these steps help. find movers
