Thunderbolt G2 Dock
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using a Thunderbolt G2 dock with dual HP monitors with a Spectre x360 laptop. I have been consistently having two issues. One is that when waking the computer up only the left display will wake up. I have swapped out both the monitors and the cables and the issue is always with the right monitor. To fix this I have to unplug the computer from the dock and plug it back in. The other issue is that frequently the primary monitor will switch from left to right. I switch it back in the display settings only to have it switch back a day or two later.

I like the concept of this dock but I have had multiple problems with it. In addition to the two mentioned above it sometimes can't hold the laptop at full charge and I have had it quit charging completely. There are work-arounds for all of these things but I just want it to work the way it should.

Any help is appreciated.

Using the dock has become much more difficult. Right now the laptop is asleep and plugged into the dock. If I try to wake the computer nothing happens. If I open the laptop and unplug it from the dock it will wake up. After I sign into Windows I plug it back into the dock. I can hear the docking sound but the monitors do not turn on, the laptop screen does freeze. So I unplug the dock and plug it back in repeatedly, waiting a minute or so each time, and eventually it starts working, sometimes...Last night only one monitor worked. I had to restart the computer and mess with the display settings to finally get both monitors to wake up and work.

Reading some other threads such as this it seems like most people are having dock issues. I'm at the point of contacting HP and sending everything back. I've used laptops and docks with multiple monitors for years of other brands with no issues, this stuff isn't that complicated to get right.
