Hi everyone, I’ve noticed that streaming HD videos on platorm like Castle Apk some HP laptops can sometimes lag or buffer unexpectedly, even with decent internet speeds. From my experience working on media platforms and testing apps on HP devices, a few things really help improve performance: Make sure Windows and graphics drivers are fully updated (especially Intel or NVIDIA drivers).Disable background apps that consume bandwidth or CPU during streaming. Try changing browser settings — some browsers handle video buffering better on certain HP hardware. Lowering video quality temporarily can help if you have limited hardware resources.
I also like to test with different streaming apps and check CPU/GPU usage during playback to spot bottlenecks.
Has anyone else found good tweaks or software that helps smooth streaming on HP laptops? Would love to hear your tips!

@xionararuiz12, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
You're absolutely right, even with good internet speeds, performance can vary depending on hardware, software, and system settings. Here are some targeted tips and steps to help optimize streaming on HP laptops:
Keep Windows and Drivers Updated
Outdated drivers can cause lag or buffering during video playback.
Update Windows:
Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all available updates.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- For Intel Graphics: Use Intel Driver & Support Assistant
- For NVIDIA GPUs: Use GeForce Experience
- For HP-specific drivers: Visit HP Support page - Official HP® Support
Disable Background Apps
Background apps can consume CPU, RAM, and bandwidth.
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
- Go to Startup tab and disable unnecessary apps
- In Processes, end tasks that are consuming high resources during streaming
Optimize Browser Settings
Different browsers handle video playback differently.
- Try multiple browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Edge often performs better on HP hardware due to tight Windows integration.
- Enable Hardware Acceleration:
- In Chrome: Settings > System > Use hardware acceleration when available
- In Edge: Settings > System and performance > Use hardware acceleration
Adjust Streaming Quality
If your laptop has limited resources, lowering video quality can help.
- Most streaming platforms (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) allow manual quality selection- try 720p or lower if buffering occurs.
Monitor System Performance
Use built-in tools to identify bottlenecks.
- Open Task Manager during streaming and check:
- CPU usage: High usage may indicate background processes or insufficient cooling
- GPU usage: Ensure the GPU is being used for video decoding
- Network usage: Check if other apps are consuming bandwidth
Use HP Performance Tools
HP provides utilities to optimize system performance:
HP Support Assistant: Automatically updates drivers and checks system health
HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
HP Command Center (on select models): Allows thermal and performance tuning
Access via Start Menu or HP software suite
Additional Tips
- Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi for stable connection (if possible)
- Clear browser cache regularly
- Disable VPNs or proxies during streaming unless necessary
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
