My HP Touch Screen laptop is having a problem with the screen freezing. The only way to unfreeze it is to move the screen, as in open it or close it a little. It freezes all the time, it isn't usable anymore unless you keep one hand on the screen to move it every few seconds. Its just the screen that freezes, your keystrokes continue to record and sound continues to run, only the screen freezes. I tried updating the drivers, reverting back to original image, even disabled the touch screen, it still freezes. Any ideas what could cause this ? It started a few weeks ago, was fine before that.

Hi @xlr8r1
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
To better assist you - Were there any recent changes made to the computer?
While you respond to that, try these steps -
1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4. Click Extensive Test.
If the test passes, try a system restore -
1. Shutdown the computer.
2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.
4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.
5. Click on Troubleshoot.
6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Restore.
7. Choose a Restore point or a Restore date when the computer was working fine.
8. Click on OK to initialize the System Restore.
If the issue still persists, back-up the data and try these steps to re-install the operating system -
1. Shutdown the computer.
2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.
4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.
5. Click on Troubleshoot.
6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Recovery.
Note : Back-up all your data as System Recovery will delete everything that you had saved or installed on the computer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
