HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-eu0000 (267R4AV)

The touch screen on my HP ENVY laptop stopped working.  I've updated the drivers, it still doesn't work.  Any suggestions?

Hi @5624

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the touch screen on your HP ENVY laptop has stopped working despite updating the drivers, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Step 1: Restart Your Laptop

Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.

Step 2: Check for Hardware Issues

  1. Inspect the Screen: Make sure there are no physical damages or obstructions on the screen.
  2. Clean the Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen, ensuring there’s no residue affecting touch functionality.

Step 3: Enable Touchscreen

  1. Device Manager:
    • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
    • Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
    • Look for HID-compliant touch screen. If it’s disabled, right-click and select Enable.

Step 4: Calibrate Touchscreen

  1. Search for Calibrate: In the Windows search bar, type Calibrate and select Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.
  2. Follow Instructions: Follow the prompts to calibrate your touchscreen.

Step 5: Run Hardware Troubleshooter

  1. Open Settings: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  2. Additional Troubleshooters: Look for any hardware-related troubleshooters and run them.

Step 6: Check for Windows Updates

  1. Update Windows: Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Step 7: Perform a System Restore

If the touch screen was working fine previously, you could perform a system restore to a point when it was functioning:

  1. Search for Restore: Type Restore in the Windows search bar and select Create a restore point.
  2. System Restore: Click on System Restore and follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier date.

Step 8: Check BIOS Settings

  1. Restart your Laptop: Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc, F 10 during startup).
  2. Look for Touchscreen Settings: Make sure the touchscreen is enabled in the BIOS settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
