Hi @VSaldivar,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your touch screen and touchpad on your HP Envy x360 are not working, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor software glitches.
- Update drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with touchpad and touchscreen functionality. You can update drivers through the Device Manager in Windows.
- Check for Windows updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes, updates can include fixes for hardware issues.
- Check for hardware issues: Physically inspect your laptop for any damage to the touchpad or touchscreen. Sometimes, hardware issues can cause these components to malfunction.
- Perform a hardware reset: Shut down your laptop, disconnect all external devices, and remove the laptop battery (if possible). Then, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the battery and external devices, then turn on your laptop and check if the issue persists.
- Run hardware diagnostics: Many laptops have built-in diagnostics tools that can help identify hardware issues. You can usually access these tools by pressing a specific key during startup (often F2 or F12 for HP laptops).
- Check BIOS settings: Sometimes, changes in BIOS settings can affect the functionality of certain hardware components. Make sure that the touchpad and touchscreen are enabled in the BIOS settings.
- Perform a system restore: If the issue started recently, you can try restoring your system to a previous point in time when the touchpad and touchscreen were working correctly.
Remember to back up your important data before attempting any troubleshooting steps that involve resetting or restoring your system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
