HP EliteBook x360 830 G6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 11

The touchscreen was working fine up until 4-5 months ago.

I have tried factory reset, backups, fresh installs, even upgrading to Windows 11 and doing fresh installs of 10/11 both.

Nothing has got the touch screen to work - I have followed all the HP listed steps in their guides/videso to no avail.

It shows up under device manager, it can be reinstalled and everything but it will not work and won't register even a single touch on calibration or other tests.

I had similar problem on different hp and the touchscreen was not working. What worked for me is one of the following not sure which helped.

disable the graphic cards from the device manger

restart

go to https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/ search for nextwindow

download extract install restart

go to the command prompt as administrator

msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

enter bios from uefi

restore default settings (I believe this solves the issue)

try to restore firmware

restart

enable the graphic cards from the device manger

Touch screen is back.
