Product: HP ZBook Firefly 15 G7 Mobile Workstation

Hi. I have a reoccurring issue with my notebook. The touch pad, as become unreliable when clicking. Moving the cursor around isn't perfect but generally OK. However, clicking it to select something often requires pressing several times before getting it to work. The buttons above it obviously do the same job, but are less convenient and often has the opposite problem - clicking it selects the item twice.

 

This went in for repair a year or so ago, and was fixed, but soon went wrong again. I really don't can't lose the laptop for weeks or months again for a long repair. Is there anything I can try myself? IT knowledge is average.
