Hello, good afternoon.
I have an HP laptop running Windows 11.
The equipment data is:
Model: 15-fd1057la
Serial: >Do not include the product serial number or any private information<
Product #: C64RXLA#ABM
I have a problem with the right click of the touch panel. I see that this problem is suddenly a driver problem.
I already have the drivers for this device from the official HP website. 5 controllers come.
This computer has HP Support Assistant.
When I install these 5 drivers, the system is not deconfigured? It has nothing to do with HP Support Assistant? These drivers do not affect the ones that come by default?
Thank you for your prompt response.

Hi @William78,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it can be when the touchpad doesn’t respond as expected, especially with right‑click functionality.

To clarify, you mentioned you already downloaded the five drivers available for your HP 15‑fd1057la from the official HP website ( I hope your referring to this website -  https://support.hp.com/ ).

Installing these drivers will not “deconfigure” your system  they are designed specifically for your model. HP Support Assistant works alongside them; it simply helps keep your drivers and firmware updated. Installing drivers manually won’t conflict with Support Assistant, and they won’t overwrite essential system defaults in a harmful way.

Could you confirm:

Does the right‑click fail only on the touchpad, or also when using an external mouse?

Have you already tried reinstalling the touchpad driver alone, or only all five drivers together?

Here are a few  steps you can try before reinstalling everything:

01.Check Touchpad Settings

Go to

Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Touchpad- Ensure Tap with two fingers for right‑click is enabled

Adjust sensitivity to Medium or High

02.Update or Reinstall Driver

Open Device Manager → Mice and other pointing devices - Right‑click HP Touchpad/Precision Touchpad

Select Update driver → Search automatically

If issue persists, choose Uninstall device, then restart to reinstall

03.Run HP Support Assistant

This tool checks for the latest drivers and firmware.

Open HP Support Assistant from Start menu

Run Check for updates and messages

Install any recommended updates

04.Test with External Mouse - Helps confirm if the issue is hardware‑specific.

Connect a USB mouse

Verify if right‑click works

If yes, touchpad hardware may need service

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
