HP Pavilion 15-aw030ca (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been trying for days to roll back my HP 15-AW030CA to factory-installed settings, all has failed, the bios is stuck on the most recent version and will not roll back, this also seems to have disabled my touch screen!

I have tried the cloud reset which formats the drive and then fails, tried resetting the bios to factory-installed but it failed!

I have a previous Windows image file that will install and I have done a clean install of Windows 10 but NOTHING brings back the touch functionality of my pc, the bios tools from HP all say failed when rolling back, will only allow current version!

I'm at my end, any suggestions, device manager has no HID touch compliant device!

Hi@SharkyCA1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing Touchscreen issues with the HP Pavilion Laptop

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Click here for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) link.

If the issue persists then it could be a hardware issue. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.
