HP Recommended

Recently, my touchscreen stopped working. According to my computer, it doesn't exist. That thing you're about to recommend, don't, I tried it. The next thing you're about to recommend, save your copy/paste, I tried that too. Let's just skip to the part where we've established that this is not operator error, lack of updates, or any of the "generalized issues", It's not that my computer needs a restart, that has happened at least two dozen times since this started. I have the most recent version of all updates. There is nothing to update a driver on. Troubleshooter says there is no problem (because there is no touchscreen to detect). I can't recalibrate, as there is nothing to recalibrate. I've spent over an hour slogging through algorthymic search engine appeal to the lost common demoninator idiocy and would like a solution, if there is one to be had. Is there one?
