Touch screen stopped working (code 45 not connected)

So I've seen the issue posted in some places but cant seem to figure the issue out on my own.  The touch screen randomly stopped working and when I go to the Device manager in the HID Compliant touch screen its greyed out and says:

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

But theres no enable there as some people say there is and the other weird part is if i go to computer info it says that there is no pen and touch input available on this device.  I've looked into re-installing the drivers but I cant seem to find the actual touch driver.  Any help would be appreciated.

I understand that the touchscreen is not working.

I have a few steps that should resolve your concern:  

I recommend checking if the Touch is working on BIOS (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer). 

If it works on bios, it's a software issue, update the drivers from the HP Website, if the issue persists: please reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue 

Attempt to run a test using the HP hardware diagnostic tool, 

If it doesn't work on BIOS or the diagnostics tool either,  

it's a hardware failure and you may need to Contact HP to set up a hardware repair service.
