I have replaced the keyboard of an EliteBook 840 G5 from one with a pointer/rocker/touchstyk to one without. The TouchPad top buttons stopped working.  Is the keyboard replacement the reason, or I have damaged something in the process? How can I use the buttons without a pointer?

 

I have both Windows 11 and Linux installed on the laptop and the problem persists with both OSes.
