Hello, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. The help I got from HP call support is listed as followed.
They made sure everything was up to date, windows, drivers, BIOS, all of that. All of it was, but the problem still happend so I called back three hours later after it acted up again and was told to factory reset the laptop. (WORST advice I was given. I can no longer roll back to windows version 1709 even if I DIDN'T have Home edition, this would have still been annoying had I had longer period of time to roll back. It solved nothing.)
I was called back as a checkup, and as the problem was still happening the male walked me through getting to F2 UEFI to take the mouse/touchpad component tests (This is where I'm a slight bit confused still.) I took the tests and the pointer test passed easily. The drag and drop test however, I'm not ure if it's SUPPOSED to go like this, but the guy said it was supposed to work like that?
Left drag and drop: I used the touchpad alone, not the buttons below it. I tapped to click and drag the left and passed that side.
Right drag and drop: Tapping to click and drag would not work. I had to tap and click the right mouse button below the touchpad to drag and drop the right side of the drag and drop test. (He said that was how it was supposed to work? Confused as to why the left does not make you do that but only the right does.)
On my old laptop, it's still on windows 10 version 1709, and the BIOS is an older version than what is on this one right now. BUT going to the UEFI there to do the same thing?
Old laptop drag and drop left: Touchpad only tap to click and drag passed.
Old laptop drag and drop right: Touchpad would not let me tap to click and drag, I had to do the same thing as on my new one. But it did pass.
I'm still a bit confused on why you need to physically click the right mouse button on both of them to pass the right drag and drop touchpad component test.
Outcome: The male who helped me on call support, said that it was not a hardware problem. He said it sounded like a software problem, which is admitedly REALLY ANNOYING. But that unless I spoke to software support, he could no longer help me since it was not a hardware problem.
I've opted to wait for more cumulitive? updates to see if it solves the problem as I've also looked into known bugs for windows 10 version 1803 and mouse and touchpad sensitivity WAS a known issue, but the cause was not known. ((I don't think sending it in would solve anything, and I refuse to get a laptop back that is half put together or with it's motherboard fried, I've SEEN those horror stories.)) It's not as bad as it was when I first started to seek help on here though.
It will still jump every now and then but not as bad as before. It will still act like I click off chrome (even though chrome is still open and pulled up) and it will pull up my third party mesenger app that I have open even though I could be COMPLETELY away from my laptop or not touching the touchpad what so ever. (Wireless mouse works just fine still btw.) I don't mind that it happens? It's very annoying, and I've taken to actually writing down the time and date and what it does when it happens. All in all, I don't like the new windows version 1803. To buggy from what I've seen so far, everything is up to date yet the touchpad still acts up annoyingly.
