Hello,
All of a sudden, my touchpad and touchscreen is not working. I have performed every single suggestion from the virtual assistance as well as from the HP community suffering from the dame issues. I have even reset my entire pc to see if that resolved the issue and still nothing. I uninstalled, installed, updated drivers from device manager, hard shutdown ive tried every single step...the only step that i get stuck at is the HP PC hardware Diagnostics - MY HP PC is not automatically downloaded on the pc, and I have tried downloading it from HP support website as well as tried the shut down, press esc, run components check, however my pc does not even give those options - i have lost hope after spending 42 hours trying to fix this.....can someone please assist me or logon to my pc virtually to try fix the probem?

Hi @Nazy8619,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Spectre X360 2-in-1 laptop's touchpad and touchscreen. There could be several reasons why they are not working. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the problem.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor software issues, so try restarting your laptop and see if the touchpad and touchscreen start working again.
- Check for updates: Ensure that your operating system and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues. Go to the HP website or use their software update utility to check for the latest drivers and updates for your specific model.
- Enable touchpad and touchscreen: It's possible that the touchpad and touchscreen were accidentally disabled. To check this, press the "Windows key + I" to open the Settings app, then go to "Devices" > "Touchpad" and make sure the touchpad is set to "On." For the touchscreen, go to "Device Manager," find the "Human Interface Devices" section, and check if the touchscreen is enabled.
- Check for physical issues: Ensure that there are no physical obstructions or debris on the touchpad or touchscreen that might be preventing them from working properly. Clean the touchpad gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Run Hardware Diagnostics: Some laptops come with built-in hardware diagnostic tools. You can access them during the boot process by pressing specific keys (usually F2 or Esc) as soon as you power on the laptop. Run a comprehensive hardware test to check if there are any issues with the touchpad or touchscreen.
- System Restore: If the touchpad and touchscreen were working correctly before but stopped after a recent update or software installation, you can try performing a system restore to a point when they were functioning correctly.
- Safe Mode: Boot the laptop into Safe Mode to see if the touchpad and touchscreen work in this environment. If they do, it might indicate that a third-party application or driver is causing the problem.
- Check for hardware issues: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there is a hardware problem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Alden4,
Thank you for your response and trying to assist, however, as mentioned, I have done everything that you have suggested below, but touch screen and touchpad both still not working. (after attempted all the below steps again for the 4th time). I have even reset my entire PC - "for nothing".
Is there anything else anyone can suggest what else I could do here please?
Thanks.
