HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy2000 (4R5T4AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Greetings to the Hp Community,

Hi, I am using HP Pavilion x360 14 convertible, WIN 11 . Touchpad on my device stopped working, touchpad settings option has also gone  missing from windows settings.  Just until yesterday it was working completely fine. I checked drivers and compared it to my other pc "Synaptics Precision Touchpad" and "HID compliant touchpad" drivers were not available in my pc . If this is just a driver issue can links to these  drivers pls be provided. Also last time I used my laptop was as a tab and using touchscreen. I did run hardware diagnosis and troubleshoots but got no result, restarts didn't help either.  I really do not wish to reset my pc , hope there are other options.

@shou28, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Touchpad Issues on HP Pavilion x360!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your touchpad is not working and touchpad settings have disappeared from Windows, it might be due to a missing or outdated driver. Follow these steps to help resolve the issue:

Steps to Fix Touchpad Issues:

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager by searching for it in the Start menu.
  • Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" category.
  • If you see a yellow triangle beside the touchpad, it indicates a driver issue.

Reinstall Touchpad Driver:

  • Access the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page to find and download the suitable Synaptics or HID compliant touchpad drivers for your specific HP Pavilion x360 model.
  • Enter your device's model number to find the right driver.
  • Download and install the drivers on your computer.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Open HP Support Assistant by searching in the Start menu or clicking the app icon in the taskbar.
  • Go to "Updates" and allow HP Support Assistant to scan and provide any pending updates.
  • Follow the instructions to download and install any listed updates.

Windows Update:

  • Check for updates by searching for "Windows Update" in the Start menu.
  • Install any available updates, especially for device drivers.

Troubleshoot with HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Restart your PC and boot into HP PC Hardware Diagnostics if available.
  • Execute component tests for the touchpad to rule out hardware-related issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
