Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa1000 (7N772AV)

Hi, I want to just known few things

1. My laptop touch pad is not working properly . I.e sometimes it is working perfectly fine and some time I don't know what the hell is happening to it.

2. What should I do ? Whether It is faulty ? I need to change or the issue can be resolved

3.If there is issue does HP does home service like indoor repair.

4. If anyone can provide me the exact HP authorised service centre for getting my issue rectified. As no one is picking call in the HP authorised service list on website.

5. How much repairing or changing the touch pad will cost?

Hi  @SDhasmana

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that the touchpad on your HP Victus is behaving intermittently, working normally at times and then becoming unresponsive. I can certainly see how important it is to have a reliable touchpad experience, and I'll be glad to help.

To assist you better, could you kindly share:

  • Does the issue occur only on battery power, only when connected to the charger, or in both situations?
  • When the touchpad stops responding, does an external USB mouse continue to work normally?
  • Is the entire touchpad unresponsive, or do you experience issues such as cursor jumping, freezing, delayed movement, or missed clicks?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

1. Check if the Touchpad Was Accidentally Disabled

  • Press the touchpad function key on the keyboard (commonly Fn + F11 on some Victus models, though this may vary).
  • Go to Settings - Bluetooth & Devices - Touchpad and ensure the touchpad is enabled.

2. Update Drivers Through HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant.
  • Check for and install all recommended driver, BIOS, and firmware updates.
  • Restart the computer after updates are completed.

3. Reinstall the Touchpad Driver

  • Right-click the Start button and open Device Manager.
  • Expand Human Interface Devices and Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Locate the touchpad device, right-click it, and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart the notebook and allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.

4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics  - Click here for steps

  • Turn off the notebook.
  • Power it on and repeatedly tap F2.
  • Run the available component and system tests to check for any hardware-related issues.
