Touchpad very sensitive and while scrolling on the web, its constantly clicking on things as I pass over them.
I have tried redownloading the drivers, making numerous setting changes to the sensitivity and clicking in various menus, but still no better.
I have tried resetting all back to factory and still the same.
I use microsoft edge as in google the cursor moves far too fast even with the speed turned down.
I think I need to return it to HP for a replacement, but seem to have to post here first for some reason??
Thanks for any suggestions
Regards
Ben

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the touchpad sensitivity.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Awesome job on diagnosing the issue correctly and performing smart troubleshooting before posting your question on HP forums. Kudos to you on that score.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
While I wait for the answers, I recommend you uninstall the touchpad driver from device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

Once the driver is reinstalled, run the TouchPad program and adjust the sensitivity settings to your preference.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi Fossette
I tried that to no avail, the unit has now been returned tp HP for a touchpa replacement after a Tech on their website decided it has contact issues internally after trying numerous things to resolve it.
Thanks
