My laptop's touchpad doesn't work or even get recognised; when I try to move the mouse it doesn't appear on screen. In the device manager - under human interface devices - the I2C HID Device has a Code 10 error "a request for the HID descriptor failed".
I have tried everything under the sun to try and fix this, I've tried uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling drivers, completely uninstalling Windows and reinstalling it, completely factory resetting the computer, having the computer get taken to a local computer shop at which they couldn't fix it. At said computer shop they also reconnected the touchpad ribbon cable to the touchpad to ensure that there wasn't a hardware issue and that there was a solid connection for the touchpad.
I'm not sure what else to try to attempt to fix this laptop. It's a HP Pavilion x360 convertible laptop, the touchscreen works fine but the laptop is unresponsive.
