I am having an issue with my touchpad. The touchpad was working fine , but it suddenly stopped responding.
I have tried the following things to fix the issue:
- I enabled Mouse Keys in the Accessibility settings. This worked temporarily, but the problem came back after I restarted my computer.
- I checked Device Manager and saw that the I2C-HID device has a yellow triangle next to it. I uninstalled it and restarted the laptop; I found it again with a yellow triangle.
- I tried resetting my laptop, but this did not fix the problem. I updated the bios as well.
- I tried installing the latest driver from HP website
- I attempted a clean installation of windows 10. I had windows 11 and I thought if I roll back to Windows 10 the touchpad will work but it didn't work
- I tried to fix it with CMD Commands and I ran HP PC hardware diagnostics, the touchpad actually worked. However, after restarting my laptop. The touchpad didn't work again.
It seems that all solutions actually fix the touchpad but only temporarily. I am not sure what else to do to fix this issue. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you

I see that you are facing an issue with your Laptop.
Kindly refer to the steps on this link to Perform component tests for the touchpad. (If it fails there is an issue with the hardware and you can skip the below troubleshooting steps)
Please install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps.
go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.
Also, refer to the steps on this link to update the BIOS and let me know if that fixes the issue.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I have attempted all of the solutions that you have suggested, including updating the drivers and BIOS, but nothing has worked.
A few days ago, the touchpad suddenly started working and the yellow triangle on the I2C- HID driver disappeared. However, the keyboard stopped working and a yellow triangle appeared on the keyboard driver. I restarted the laptop and attempted a power reset, and finally everything worked fine for a couple of days. However, today when I opened my laptop, the touchpad stopped working again.
I would be very grateful if you could help me troubleshoot this issue. Thank you
