Can you provide the model of laptop?

Have you tried enabling the touchpad using the appropriate F key for your device?

Hi @Ankita2509,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your laptop touchpad is not working, and you've already tried various troubleshooting steps without success, here are some additional steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.

  1. Check Touchpad Settings:

    • Make sure the touchpad is not disabled. Some laptops have a function key (like Fn + F5, F6, F7, or similar) that toggles the touchpad on and off.
    • Check the touchpad settings in the control panel or settings menu to ensure it's enabled.
  2. Restart Your Laptop:

    • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware and software issues. Try restarting your laptop and see if the touchpad starts working again.
  3. Update Drivers:

    • Since you mentioned the drivers are uninstalled, you may need to reinstall them. You can download the touchpad drivers from the official HP support website for your specific laptop model.
    • Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model (HP Notebook - 15-Db1059au), and look for the touchpad drivers under the "Driver - Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices" section. Download and install the latest driver.
  4. Device Manager:

    • Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
    • Locate the "Mice and other pointing devices" section, find your touchpad, right-click on it, and select "Update driver." Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. System Restore:

    • If the issue started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a point when the touchpad was working. This will not affect your personal files but will uninstall recently installed programs.
    • Type "create a restore point" in the Windows search bar, open the System Properties, and go to the "System Restore" option.
  6. BIOS/UEFI Settings:

    • Check your laptop's BIOS/UEFI settings for any touchpad-related options. Sometimes, there might be settings that can affect the functionality of the touchpad.
  7. Check for Physical Issues:

    • Ensure there are no physical issues with the touchpad, such as dirt or debris causing it to malfunction. Gently clean the touchpad with a soft cloth.
  8. System File Checker (SFC) and DISM:

    • Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
      dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    • These commands will scan and repair system files that may be related to the touchpad issue.

Remember to back up your important data before making any significant changes to your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
